These two, y'all... SO in love even after 10 years together. A little rain on their wedding day didn't stop us, in fact, it made it even more exciting. Clear dome umbrellas are a staple in my wedding day preparation stash.

David and Alisha reached out to me in January 2022 to ask me to be their wedding day photographer and I immediately clicked with Alisha. Its the best feeling ever when you 100% mesh with brides and grooms. I loved learning about their journey from having been together a decade already, having two beautiful children together and wedding plans continuously getting pushed back; but the day finally came for them to get married. They decided to go with a beautiful dusty sage green and ivory with gold accents for their colors and a dreamy, private retreat venue tucked away in Charlottesville, Virginia.

My associate photographer who photographs weddings with me, Katie, helped capture this beautiful day with me so perfectly. As we drove up to the venue, we were greeted by a long, winding pebble drive. Not too long after, we saw the gorgeous estate nestled on the land surrounded by mature trees and a serene pond. We made our way inside the large estate, grabbed a snack and water then the fun began.

First Look was one of my favorite parts of this wedding. These two were laser focused on each other the whole day. They knew exactly what was important and laid into that without a care in the world past their true intentions of, you guessed it, marrying each other. I love that they were unbothered by the rain. You know, there is an old wives tale that says rain on your wedding day is good luck after all. (Plus, as you can see in the gallery, the rain called for some super duper cute clear umbrellas)

Details are always my favorite part of weddings. The jewelry that holds a special purpose. The memorials for lost family members. The unique rings. The type of flowers. My most favorite, the groom/groomsmen's crazy socks.

Even though it was cloudy, overcast, misty, rainy and windy, these two nailed their wedding day and bridal portraits. I loved seeing their friends and family come together with laughter and joy as we watched them exchange vows. I just know there was TONS of fun that happened after we left for the night. What a fun group of people who truly love each other and support each other.
