I met Dannah in 2018 when I first moved to Richmond. When I tell you we clicked, we seriously hoped we were long lost sisters. It has been such a joy watching the family grow. Corey and Dannah's wedding day was intimate, precious, Christ centered and very special.

When Dannah asked me to photograph her wedding, I was SO HAPPY. There is nothing I love more than listening to vows being exchanged between two people. All the way from the vows read at the ceremony to privately exchanged vows, they are all so meaningful and unique. The months leading up to the wedding, Corey and Dannah were torn between venue options and then finally landed a beautiful private venue in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Oakley Hill Venue did not disappoint. I pulled up on the wedding day to be greeted by a long, relaxing drive up to the entrance in true country barn style. Once parked by the cute as can be cottage, I entered the venue through a nostalgic white picket fence gate covered by a wooden awning draped in flowering greens. From there I saw the brand new but so perfectly aged looking white barn where the ceremony was being held.

They exchanged vows on the south side of the barn where the sliding barn doors framed their special moment surrounded by a giant field and trees. Talk about relaxing and private?! Their kids, Courtland and Hayden, had the biggest sparkle in their eyes while intently watching them exchange vows. The kids stood right beside the bride and groom, so excited and ready for this milestone in their life. It was such a beautiful moment to witness.

Now, my absolute favorite part about weddings is when the bride and groom get to sneak away from the chaos of the day and focus on what the day is truly about, each other. We snuck away for bridal portraits and they got to experience the serenity in this special moment. We explored the venue and came across a precious tree swing that was screaming for attention. So, we hung out there for a while, Corey speaking life in Dannah during her individual photos was the cutesttttttt thing ever. Next up was the barn backyard where they were perfectly framed by the giant trees and sunshine. The creaking sound of the tree swaying in the wind and the giggles from the bride and groom was a moment I will never forget. There is such beauty in these memories and I hope every time they look back on that set of images, they remember the joy from that moment.

As I told Corey and Dannah, leading up to weddings I am photographing, I pray specifically for each couple and that their marriage have God as the foundation. I prayed for this beautiful couple for months and every time, God confirmed that He was already deeply involved in their lives. I felt such confidence and peace with this. As you can see, Dannah is wearing a stunning cross necklace that was gifted to her as a wedding gift as a precious display of her faith.

I can not wait to watch their marriage blossom. I have deep core memories of every wedding I have photographed and each one holds a special place in my heart. Here's to an undeniably fabulous life ahead for you two!!
