An Intimate Coastal Brunch Wedding at Wild Dunes Resort: Chris and Sarah’s Love Story
There’s something truly special about a wedding by the sea. On October 26, 2024, Chris and Sarah celebrated their love in an intimate brunch ceremony at the beautiful Wild Dunes Resort on the Isle of Palms, South Carolina. With 35 of their closest friends and family, the couple created a day filled with love, laughter, and stunning coastal elegance. Although they reached out only a few months shy of their big day to schedule (thank goodness I had this day available), it felt like it was truly meant to be! Even though we missed out on the year leading up to the wedding where we build a connection, it totally didn't change a thing with the big day! You are probably wondering why we had not met in person yet leading up to their big day...they live in TEXAS! They traveled all the way here to Charleston for their brunch wedding and it was literal PERFECTION. If that doesn't inspire you to surround yourself with things and places you love, I don't know what will.
A Scenic Ceremony on the South Croquet Lawn
Chris and Sarah chose the South Croquet Lawn at Wild Dunes for their ceremony, a serene space adjacent to the coastline. The sounds of gentle waves complemented the warm fall Charleston air, creating the perfect atmosphere for their heartfelt vows. I could tell they are SO in love and have Christ as their foundation which is such a beautiful thing to witness.
The couple’s color palette of light blue and white was a nod to the surrounding sea and sky, beautifully accented with hydrangeas. These timeless blooms adorned the ceremony space, adding a soft, romantic touch to the already breathtaking setting. Not only did the flowers showcase the two of them at the front of the ceremony, the flowers lined the path Chris and Sarah walked down, hugged the bar/drink station, wrapped around their gorgeous cake and topped every single table.
A Coastal Brunch Reception
After the ceremony, guests were treated to an elegant brunch reception. Highlights included a selection of delicious dishes and a picture-perfect cake adorned with delicate blue and white floral accents. Toasts were raised with drinks that were custom created by the bride and groom (in honor of their dogs who couldn't be there), and laughter echoed as loved ones celebrated Chris and Sarah’s union.
With fewer than 40 guests, the couple’s day was as intimate as it was joyful. Every moment felt personal, from their heartfelt first dance surrounded by pastel buildings and palm trees to the relaxed mingling with their loved ones.
